Senior forward Zac Ervin pitched in 24 for Gate City but did not have a made 3-pointer in the game.
Gabe Counts scored 27 for Ridgeview, but the Wolfpack were down 23-11 after the first quarter and 15 points at the half.
The Devils shot just 6-for-26 from the 3-point line but had a lot of help on the inside. David George nailed two outside shots and Jon Sallee picked up a bucket and a load of rebounds.
Gate City is back on the court on Saturday night at home against Science Hill, which is coming off a tough nonconference loss at Elizabethton.
EASTSIDE 85, RYE COVE 35
COEBURN — A balanced scoring effort led the Spartans to the Cumberland District win over Rye Cove. Nick Livingston showed the way with 17 points, Ethan Powers had 15 and J.R. Kilgore netted 13.
Powers eclipsed the 1,000-point plateau on a night in which he also had seven steals and four assists.
Chase Love scored 21 points for the Eagles.
J.I. BURTON 97, THOMAS WALKER 61
NORTON — J.I. Burton put up some big numbers, scoring at least 20 points in every quarter and hitting 16 3-pointers in a Cumberland District win over Thomas Walker.
Houston Thacker had 23 points — including the 1,000th of his career — to lead the Raiders. Caleb Williams netted 21, Zac Campbell poured in 19 and Jonah Cochrane finished with 12 to power a strong offensive attack.
The Pioneers lit up the scoreboard behind Caleb Yeary’s 21 points.
DANIEL BOONE 67, VOLUNTEER 57
CHURCH HILL — Chad Heglar had 22 points, eight rebounds and three steals to lead the Trailblazers to the Big 7 Conference road victory.
Jared Adkins came through with 14 points for Daniel Boone, which won the rebounding battle 29-19. Ayden Begley, a recent transfer from David Crockett, scored 11 points — including a trio of big 3-point shots.
Chance Johnson had a game-high 23 points to lead Volunteer. Hunter Skelton added 19 points to the total.
ELIZABETHTON 57, SCIENCE HILL 52
ELIZABETHTON —The Cyclones (12-3) made key buckets, grabbed clutch rebounds and knocked down free throws — especially Eric Wilson — in the final minutes of the fourth quarter to earn the win.
Wilson hit 5 of 6 from the foul line in the final two minutes and finished the game with 14 points. Nico Ashley led Elizabethton with 16 points.
Will Stevens paced the Hilltoppers (10-10) with 13 points, and Hunter Phillips added eight points and 11 rebounds.
SULLIVAN SOUTH 72, HAPPY VALLEY 39
KINGSPORT — The Rebels outscored the Warriors 41-16 over the second and third quarters for the blowout win.
Cole Layne led South with 24 points, Gannon Chase ended with 13 and Chase Bowery scored 11.
Bryce Carter had 16 points to lead Happy Valley.
JOHNSON COUNTY 59, SULLIVAN EAST 55
BLUFF CITY — Blake Atwood’s 26-point performance lifted the Longhorns over the Patriots.
Lucas Phillips hit double digits with 13 points for Johnson County’s balanced attack.
Dustin Bartley and Dylan Bartley each scored 17 for East, which got eight points from Dayne Davis.
CEDAR VIEW CHRISTIAN 76, FAIRVIEW 35
ATHENS — Isaac Strickland fired up 22 points, including four 3- pointers, and Nick Rose had 19 points in the Seahawks’ easy road win.
Andrew Trent joined his teammates in double figures with 10 points for Cedar View Christian, which led 22-11 after the first quarter.
Benjamin Johnson scored 15 points and Collin Jewell had 10 for Fairview Christian.
The Seahawks are back in action Tuesday at Tri-Cities Christian.
LEE HIGH 61, JOHN BATTLE 47
BEN HUR — The Lady Generals got their first Mountain 7 District win since Feb. 10, 2017, defeating the Lady Trojans behind 22 points from Shelbie Fannon.
Kandace Quillen chipped in with 13 points and Kaitlyn Brown added 10 for Lee, which jumped out to a 12-1 lead after the first quarter and never looked back.
Haylee Dye had 14 points to lead Battle. Bethany Smith scored 13.
RIDGEVIEW 60, GATE CITY 51
GATE CITY — Reigning Class 2 player of the year Bailey Frazier scored 20 points, Brooklyn Frazier threw in 12 and the Lady Wolfpack earned a hard-fought Mountain 7 road victory.
The second quarter was the difference in the game. Ridgeview’s defense suffocated Gate City with full-court pressure and got a lot of points off turnovers.
Sarah Thompson had a game-high 23 points for the Lady Blue Devils, who trailed by as many as 16 before making a late charge. Jaden Fullen contributed 14 for Gate City.
EASTSIDE 78, RYE COVE 55
COEBURN — Kaylee Powers had a huge night for the Lady Spartans (10-4, 4-0 Cumberland District), pouring in a game-high 36 points with seven 3-pointers, 10 rebounds and six steals. Anna Whited contributed 10 points for Eastside.
Grace Rhoton had 20 points for Rye Cove (4-8, 1-3), and Katy Roller and Kayla Jessee each threw in 10.
TWIN SPRINGS 53, CASTLEWOOD 23
CASTLEWOOD — The Lady Titans got a Cumberland road victory behind 13 points from Belle Austin and 11 from Abby Castle.
Twin Springs jumped out to a 15-1 lead after the first quarter. Castlewood had no scorers in double figures.

NORTON — Thomas Walker (9-4, 3-1) recorded a key Cumberland District road win against J.I. Burton behind a balanced offensive attack.
Lakin Burke had 15 points to lead the Lady Pioneers, Talyn Dibrell had 13 and Madison Mayes added 12.
Kaylee Jenkins had 15 to lead the Lady Raiders (8-7, 1-3) and Sarah Mullins netted 12.

ELIZABETHTON — Junior Alasia Smith hit the 1,000-point milestone during her 21-point night for the Lady Hilltoppers (18-2).
Jeila Greenlee added 13 points and Erin Egerbrecht had 10 for Science Hill, which trailed 36-35 entering the fourth quarter before breaking loose.
Kaylen Shell produced 15 points and Morgan Headrick contributed 14 for the Lady Cyclones (2-11).
HAPPY VALLEY 50, SULLIVAN SOUTH 37
KINGSPORT — Shalyn Whitson had 18 points, Adrienne Henegar tallied 14 and the Lady Warriors pushed their winning streak to nine games.
Alex Harris led the Lady Rebels with 16 points and Mollie Leslie contributed seven.

BLUFF CITY — Riley Nelson scored 19 points, Kayla Honaker added 10 and the Lady Patriots pulled away in the fourth quarter to beat the Lady Longhorns.
Taylor Parsons had a team-best 15 for Johnson County. Taylor Cox added 11 and Emmy Miller 10.
FAIRVIEW CHRISTIAN 48, CEDAR VIEW CHRISTIAN 32
ATHENS — Brooklyn Derrick led Cedar View Christian with 14 points in a losing effort. The Lady Seahawks managed just four points in the third quarter.
