May 9, 1929 ~ January 8, 2018
LaVaun Hipwell Lund, 88, passed from this life to join her husband and son in heaven Monday, January 8, 2018. She was born just minutes before her twin sister LaVern on May 9, 1929, in West Weber, Utah, to Lois Wade and Willis Hipwell. She grew up in West Weber, lived in Plain City, Utah, for 20 years, and then moved back to her childhood home for the rest of her life.
She married Kenneth D. Lund on April 24, 1948, in West Weber, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. They were together for 67 years before Kenneth's passing in 2015.
LaVaun contracted polio at sixteen and had to quit school. After recuperating, she graduated from Beauty College. She helped Kenneth teach their children the meaning of hard work and the fair treatment of others.
LaVaun worked at various part time jobs, but was mostly a wonderful stay-at-home mom, raising three sons and a daughter.
LaVaun is survived by sons, Dennis D. (Mandy) Lund, West Weber; Kraig K. (Brenda) Lund, Plain City; daughter, Lisa L. (Rich) Robinson, Kettle Falls, WA; daughter-in-law, Lorraine Lund, Clinton; 18 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandsons; brothers, Ray and Keith Hipwell; and sister, Carol Lloyd. She was preceded in death by her loving husband; her son, Brad K. Lund; and sisters, LaVern (at two years old) and Emma Davies.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at 11 a.m. at the West Weber Stake Center, 4100 West 900 South West Weber. Friends may visit with family on Monday evening, January 15, 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m. and 10 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, at West Weber Stake Center. Interment in the West Weber Cemetery.
